Renovation of, and addition to, a 1970's colonial on Long Island's North Shore. Traditionally detailed kitchen cabinetry was crafted from sustainably harvested lesser-known rain forest species then capped with a pressed tin cornice. The space is lit with a combination of recessed, cove, undercabinet and ceiling mounted fixtures controlled by a Lutron Homeworks system. The space is heated by an hydronic radiant system under the porcelain floor tile.
